“The concentration camp is the final expression of human separateness and its ultimate consequence. It is organized abandonment.” --Arthur Miller
NOTES FROM LEAH B:
Historically, voter turnout for primaries and mid-terms tends to be low. We are seeking to improve that turnout by encouraging people to get out and vote and by providing them with candidate information.
We are looking to set up tables at various locations to provide voters with information on the candidates. I have a number of volunteers who are willing to put together the information and to man the tables. However, we need someone to lead and organize this endeavor. If you are able to take lead, please email me at admin@deltacountyunified.org.
VOLUNTEER NETWORK ON BEHALF OF CANDIDATES
Indivisible Michigan is organizing a volunteer network across Michigan Senate District 38(Kelli van Ginhoven) and Michigan House District 110 (Brian Irizarry). The goal is to build a strong list of neighbors who are willing to help with community outreach, voter engagement, and local civic participation during this election cycle.
To get started, they have created a short Volunteer Interest Survey. This helps identify people who are open to helping with activities like door-to-door outreach, phone calls, event support, or general organizing.
Here’s the survey link: https://forms.gle/p2mki3q8FmQppRCt7
They are asking asking for two quick favors:
Please take the survey yourself if you live in SD‑38 or HD‑110 and are open to volunteering in any capacity.
Please share the survey with your membership, email lists, or community networks so we can reach as many people as possible across the western and central U.P.
Even a handful of new volunteers in each town makes a meaningful difference. This early list-building helps coordinate training, outreach, and communication as we move into the summer and fall.

REQUESTS, INVITATIONS AND INFORMATION FROM OTHER ORGANIZATIONS:
From SWIM (Statewide Indivisible Michigan):
Join us for a discussion with Ann Brown from Sen. Slotkin's staff. These conversations are always informative and cover a wide variety of topics of interest to Michigan voters. To make sure we cover issues that are most important to attendees we encourage you to submit your questions to info@statewideindivisibllemi.com by June 15.
You can register for this event here.
NOTES FROM INDIVISIBLE "WHAT'S THE PLAN?" NATIONAL MEETING (6-4-26):
1) They clarified that there is no No Kings protest scheduled for June 14, but rather they are encouraging watch parties for "Rise Up and Sing." If you received information from a group claiming to be No Kings and asking for money for a mass protest, these are fake.
2) They are asking us to continue to call our reps re: Republicans trying to force through more money for ICE and CBP through the reconciliation process, especially in the face of the conditions in "detention centers" like Delaney and Dilley. (see "3-Minute Call to Action below)
3) They discussed Hawaii's law that just passed against corporate money in politics (combating Citizens United). We have a ballot measure in November on a similar proposal here in Michigan called "Mop up Michigan."

THREE-MINUTE CALL TO ACTION:
Call Governor Whitmer and State Rep Joey Andrews to let them know you oppose the construction of data centers in our state. There is a script on 5 Calls (toward the bottom: "Oppose the Expansion of AI Data Centers") with more specific asks, but that's basically it: We do not want more data centers sucking up our water and energy in Michigan!
