"It takes no compromise to give people their rights...it takes no money to respect the individual. It takes no political deal to give people freedom. It takes no survey to remove repression." --Harvey Milk
NOTES FROM LEAH B:
There were several significant and interesting victories this week. The Treasury Department's internal watchdog group found no evidence of the fraud previously alleged by Musk and his DOGE team. Is anyone surprised?
And of course, Trump announced (for the 40th time?) that we are once again nearing a peace agreement with Iran. If you follow the stock market, you will have noticed how it rises and falls on Trump's every spoken word. However, even investors are tired of this game. A recent news story noted that investors are starting to back away from the oil market.
Yesterday, a US District Court Judge ordered the restoration of the previously removed National Plaques. Judge Kelly noted that removing these plaques set a "dangerous precedent of censorship and sanitization."

THREE-MINUTE CALL TO ACTION:
As you've probably heard, Trump wants to build a giant arch in Washington DC, a monstrosity that would dwarf the Lincoln Memorial and tower over Arlington National Cemetery. He wants to do this with our taxes...$15M is just the downpayment, they haven't released a final budget. We are currently in the public comment period for this. Public comments are incredibly useful in helping Congress fight this or in lawsuits to block it. Just click the blue button to leave your comment, then you will need to leave your name and email address but you are NOT required to fill out the address and phone number portion. It can be long and detailed, or you can just say something as simple as, "I oppose using taxpayer dollars to build a giant arch in Washington DC." Here's the link, just click on the "Comment Now" button:
