NOTES FROM LEAH B:
1) We are raising funds for a rally at Ludington Park in September. I am hoping to raise $500 to cover the costs of this event. Indivisible National is going to match our donations for the month of August up to $300! Please consider making a donation in August to help us reach this matching goal and pay for the rally. 2) Yvette Eagle, Ed McMahon and I will host a fundraiser dinner on August 16 for District 108 candidate Rachel Keys. This event is not sponsored by Delta County Unified or Delta Dems, but we wanted to extend the invitation to everyone to attend. Please see "Important Dates" below for more information.
3) DATA is offering free rides to anyone who is voting absentee or in person. To use this service, you must call DATA to schedule your ride, but there will not be a charge. This free service will cover both the Primary and General Election. Their phone number is 906-786-1186.

The meal will include brisket, grilled chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, dessert, and more. Weather permitting, it will be held in Leah B's backyard around the firepit. NOTES FROM INDIVISIBLE "WHAT'S THE PLAN?" NATIONAL MEETING (07-09-26):
1) The guest was Jarrett Keohokalole running against DINO (Democrat in Name Only) Ed Case. He is a member of Hawaii's state legislature where they passed a law to combat Citizens United by getting money out of politics (first state to do so). He is incredibly impressive. If you'd like to donate to his campaign, here is the link: https://www.jarrettforcongress.com
2) Many of the questions were about messaging for the general election. Leah and Ezra believe that messaging should focus on affordability and corruption, and linking the two.
3) They announced that there WILL be a large rally (such as a No Kings or Hands Off protest) scheduled before the midterms, but right now we are focusing on primaries.

Our office is on Delta Avenue in Gladstone (between Dew Drop and Dairy Flo) on Mondays during the Farmers Market.
This Saturday, there is a pop up in the morning in the front of Carpenters Hall, 1219 First Ave. So, Escanaba.
THE FAIR!! Now is your chance to see the UP State Fair and help us out by volunteering at the Delta Dems Booth in the Ruth Butler Building! Lots of shifts available from Monday, August 17 through Sunday, August 23. All are two hour shifts at 10 am, Noon, 2:00 pm, 4:00 pm, 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm. There are two exceptions: 1) Monday, the Butler building opens at 5:00 pm, so the first shift would be 5 - 8 pm. and, 2) on Sunday, we close at 8:00 pm, so there wouldn't be an 8 - 10 pm. shift. Please give me a call at (906) 786-5038 or (906) 630-5858, so that I can accommodate your choices. This year due to the November election, we will be sharing our double-wide booth with interested candidates. There is room for 4 people comfortably. You may also email me at eskynanc@gmail.com.

The EPA was heavily pressured by states, lawmakers, and advocacy groups to monitor microplastics in drinking water but they didn't include microplastics on their list. There is now a public comment period open until August 31. Will you please write a public comment?
