NOTES FROM LEAH B:
1) Save the Date! We are teaming up with the Delta Dems to host a Family Fun Day and rally at Ludington Park on September 19th from 1 pm to 5 pm. The Delta Dems will handle the Family Fun Day with Delta County Unified co-sponsoring. Delta County Unified will host the rally and co-sponsor the Family Fun Day. We will also invite the local Republican Party to participate. We hope candidates from both parties will speak at the rally. We want to bring the entire community together.

2) We are looking for members to attend local government meetings: city, county, school board, etc., and report back to the group. We are compiling a list of these meetings and will post it to the web page. If you were assigned at this week's meetings to look up meeting dates and times, please send those to Porter (porter@porterkelly.com).
3) Teresa attended the last Delta County Planning meeting where they discussed a moratorium on data centers. The current language of the proposed moratorium calls for the Delta County Board of Commissioners to adopt a moratorium for up to 12 months on data centers and cryptocurrency mining facilities. If you support this, attend the next Delta County Commission Meeting on July 21st at 5:15 pm at the Delta County Service Center, 2929 College Avenue, Escanaba.
Note that the moratorium only covers Baldwin, Bay de Noc, Brampton, Cornell, Ensign, Fairbanks, Maple Ridge, Nahma, and Wells. If your area is not covered, you should attend your city/township meetings to find out what protections (if any) they have in place. Then, please report that information back to us.
4) At our last meeting, we updated our By-Laws. Going forward, anyone who attends a meeting can vote at that meeting. We have also restructured our board. We now have two Co-Chairs, a Vice-President, and a Secretary/Treasurer. We are looking to add one more member to the board. If you are interested, please let me know.

In case you already voted for Mallory McMorrow before she suspended her Senate campaign:
A voter who returned their absentee ballot to their clerk's office in person, via drop box, or by mail has the right to change their vote by spoiling their ballot and requesting a new one. The request must be in writing, signed by the voter, and received by the voter's city or township clerk by 5 p.m. on July 24. Voters should contact their city/township clerk directly for more information. Voters can find their clerk's contact information at Michigan.gov/Vote.

NOTES FROM INDIVISIBLE "WHAT'S THE PLAN?" NATIONAL MEETING (07-09-26):
1) The main discussion was about ICE escalation, including the two murders in the streets that happened last week. They recommended going through their trainings so that communities can be prepared if/when ICE shows up, and they also discussed the importance of electing candidates who will hold all of these people accountable
2) They talked about their press conference about the Clarity Act where reporters told them that the White House has said they are going to make sure there's an ethics provision in the bill and basically said "we'll believe it when we see it" but also pointed out that at least the White House knows they have a problem with Americans seeing Trump's crypto schemes as corrupt
3) There were a lot of questions about Trump's election interference attempts. Trump has lost a lot of court cases, thankfully, in his attempts to federalize the elections. They reiterated that we need to vote for our dream candidate in the primaries but then vote for "whatever flavor of Democrat" in the general election in order to fight the fascists

VOTE EARLY IN THE PRIMARIES AND ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO DO THE SAME! Get your ballot in if you vote by mail and talk to your neighbors, friends and family about the candidates you support. If they're Dems or independents, let them know that Abdul isn't taking PAC money while his opponent is owned by AIPAC. If they're Republicans, make sure they know that Jack Bergman is a carpetbagger who lives in Louisiana! Justin Michal is the better Republican candidate as he actually lives in Grayling, opposes data center expansion, and has a less hardline opinion on immigration than the other two.
