“You just need to be a flea against injustice. Enough committed fleas biting strategically can make even the biggest dog uncomfortable and transform even the biggest nation.”
―Marian Wright Edelman
NOTES FROM LEAH B:
I would love to have some great words of wisdom, but we just returned from camping and now I am playing catch-up. :)
Here's one for you. Communism is Trump's new false flag. Arm yourself with knowledge. Educate yourself on our economic system, a communist economic system, a socialist economic system, and a mixed system of capitalism with socialist programs. People clearly do not know the differences and Trump is using that to spread more fake fear and chaos, because he has nothing he can stand one.

NOTES FROM INDIVISIBLE "WHAT'S THE PLAN?" NATIONAL MEETING (07-09-26):
1) The main discussion was about cryptocurrency. They shared that 1/3 of ALL donations in the current election cycle is from the Crypto industry
2) Ben McKenzie (the actor who has become a crypto activist) was the guest. He explained crypto really well--what it is, why it's dangerous, how we can help regulate it. I highly recommend checking out the podcast if you missed the episode
3) They discussed "The Clarity Act," a crypto bill that would regulate crypto under the CFTC (Commodities and Futures Trading Commission) instead of the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) and has NO ethics clause that can stop Trump's crypto corruption. As Ben explained it, The CFTC is a much more hands-off than the SEC and Crypto would be much less regulated. See "3-Minute Call to Action" below for how you can help

REQUESTS, INVITATIONS AND INFORMATION FROM OTHER ORGANIZATIONS:
From Michigan Dems:
As you may have heard, Mallory McMorrow suspended her Senate last weekend.
We want to ensure every voter has the information they need to make their voice heard. If you have already cast an absentee ballot for a candidate who has recently dropped out of the race, you have options to change your vote.
Please review the official guidance below regarding the rules and deadlines for spoiling a ballot:
A voter who returned their absentee ballot to their clerk's office in person, via drop box, or by mail has the right to change their vote by spoiling their ballot and requesting a new one. The request must be in writing, signed by the voter, and received by the voter's city or township clerk by 5 p.m. on July 24. Voters should contact their city/township clerk directly for more information. Voters can find their clerk's contact information at Michigan.gov/Vote.
Questions? Call the Michigan Democratic Party's Voter Assistance Hotline: 833-MI-VOTES (833-648-6837).
THREE-MINUTE CALL TO ACTION:
Call both Michigan Senators and tell them to vote NO on The Clarity Act. This crypto legislation takes the power to regulate cryptocurrency away from the SEC, guts protections against fraud, and has no ethics clauses to stop corruption from bad actors like Trump's World Liberty Financial
5 Calls has a script, here are the links if you don't already have the app:
Reminder of last week's call to action:
VOTE EARLY IN THE PRIMARIES AND ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO DO THE SAME! Get your ballot in if you vote by mail and talk to your neighbors, friends and family about the candidates you support. If they're Republicans, make sure they know that Jack Bergman is a carpetbagger who lives in Louisiana! If we can get him out in the primary, we might have a shot at the general. Justin Michal is the less harmful candidate as he actually lives in Grayling, opposes data center expansion, and has a less hard-line opinion on immigration than the other two. DenOtter is just another flavor of MAGA.
