1) We are almost 1/2 way to our $800 goal. Help us hit the mark! Because Michigan is a battleground state, Indivisible National will match up to $800 in donations made through Act Blue in August. You can donate through this link: Stand With Delta County Unified
We are raising funds for a rally at Ludington Park on September 19th. Any leftover funds from the rally will go towards the Battle of the Bands or other Delta County Unified events. We have not given up on hosting a battle of the bands. We lost the venue we originally planned to use, but we are seeking a new venue. Because of construction issues in Escanaba, we are looking to hold this event sometime this coming winter.

We currently have 5 speakers lined up, including Christiana Reynolds, Monica Peach, Kelly van Ginhoven and Rachel Keys. We hope to be announcing more speakers soon.

NOTES FROM INDIVISIBLE "WHAT'S THE PLAN?" NATIONAL MEETING (08-21-26):
The main topic of the meeting was a refresher on "Know Your Rights" when dealing with law enforcement, including ICE. Here are some of the takeaways:
1) DON'T impede, DON'T lie. DO record/document as much as possible.
2) If approached, you have the right to remain silent about where you're going, where you're coming from, etc. Tell them out loud you are exercising your right to remain silent and ask them if you are free to leave. If you are not free to leave, tell them you want to remain silent until you have a lawyer. Note: If you ask to make a phone call, calls to anyone besides your lawyer can be recorded
3) If someone asks to search your personal property, home or car without a warrant, tell them IMMEDIATELY that you do not consent. If they go forward with a search, anyway, do not impede them but continue reiterating out loud that you have not consented to the search.
4) If they DO have a warrant, take a picture of the warrant and ask for time to review it
5) Remove facial recognition for opening your phone. You do not have to give a password to officers, but you can't stop them from holding it up to your face to open it
6) If someone in your Indivisible group is encouraging violence, even jokingly, CLEARLY reiterate that we are a 100% non-violent movement. There have been reports of right-wing agitators and even law enforcement infiltrating peaceful groups.

Call Bergman and both senators to oppose the FRONTIER Act, a piece of AI legislation proposed by the tech oligarchs that would take away states' rights to regulate AI for at least three years, which is a terribly long time in terms of AI technology. This is being sold as a "bipartisan" bill because the tech bros bought themselves a Democrat, Lori Trahan of Massachusetts.
