Not voting is not a protest, it is a surrender." —Keith Ellison

NOTES FROM LEAH B.:

Election day is almost upon us.  If you did not participate in early voting, be sure to vote on Tuesday.  However, it is unlikely that Tuesday will be the end of the fight, even if we flip every seat blue.

Trump has already been sowing distrust in the election process.  His administration is already attempting to interfere with election results he may not like by filing preemptive lawsuits in California and Alaska.  So what happens after the election?  We do not yet know.  But there are some things we can do to prepare.

First and foremost, we must avoid the deception and confusion likely to come from the Trump administration.  We do this by repeatedly fact-checking to ensure we are not inadvertently sharing false information.  Next, We must be prepared to engage in peaceful, non-violent messaging and protests.  Those of us who are able, should also be prepared to donate towards legal fees if Republicans refuse to swear in our elected candidates.

Finally, while we have always maintained the stance that our protests and actions must remain non-violent and peaceful, we should also be prepared for the idea that MAGA Republicans may very well engage in less than peaceful tactics, a la January 6, 2021.   I have been saying this for some time, but I will repeat it.  You should have a safetly plan for your household and loved ones.  It would be wise to stock up on at least a few weeks' worth of food, water, and other necessary household supplies.  You should also stock up on candles, batteries, lanterns and flashlights.  Even if our worst fears do not come to pass, these supplies are good to have as winter weather approaches.

NOTES FROM INDIVISIBLE "WHAT'S THE PLAN?" NATIONAL MEETING (10-22-26):

This week's guest was our own Dr. Abdul El-Sayed! He was only on for a short time because I'm sure he has been making back-to-back appearances. After he left, they talked about a follow-up meeting that will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 4th...hopefully a victory celebration but they are also prepared for any election interference. In that case, each meeting would let people know when and where the next day's meeting is taking place as long as we are fighting interference. Of course, the hope is that it's "too big to rig" and the Trump regime doesn't have a lleg to stand on, but they're prepared for every imaginable scenario. And, once again, in case Trump tries to create a fake emergency, they are encouraging everyone to VOTE EARLY!

3-MINUTE CALL TO ACTION:

Remind every progressive you talk to this weekend to VOTE EARLY! Text or call at least three people (not necessarily in Michigan) to return their absentee ballots to a drop off box--it's too late to trust the mail. If anyone says they want to vote in person on election day because it's their tradition and they like the feeling of it, let them know that we can't put our democracy in jeopardy based on "vibes." It is very likely Trump is going to try to pull something on Election Day...having our votes in early helps mitigate that threat. LET'S DO THIS!!
