"When it's better for everyone, it's better for everyone."
   —attributed to Eleanor Roosevelt

NOTE FROM LEAH B:

1) On March 5, 2026 President Trump announced on Truth Social that he is firing Kristi Noem from the Department of Homeland Security.  She is expected to leave the office at the end of the month and will be replaced by Oklahoma Senator Mullins.

Trump went on to state that Noem will take over a new role called the "Envoy for the Shield of Americas."  This appears to be a plan to enlist and expand strategies to build a right wing South American alliance.  As of now, little is known about this, but Trump is supposed to be discussing this more at a summit in Florida on Saturday, March 7th.

2) We received information about HB 4765, which is Michigan's state version of the SAVE Act. Similarly to the SAVE Act at the national level, it will likely pass the state house but not the senate. And--unlike the SAVE Act--if for some crazy reason multiple Dem senators decided to vote for it, Whitmer would have veto power.  However, free to contact your representatives and encourage them to vote NO!

NOTES FROM INDIVISIBLE "WHAT'S THE PLAN?" NATIONAL MEETING (03-05-26):

1) As Leah B mentioned, KRISTI NOEM WAS FIRED!  Yes, she's being replaced with another terrible person but Ezra and Leah G said we should still celebrate because her dismissal was 100% due to public pressure from people like us! And hopefully Mullins will think twice before following in her path. Ezra said we obviously want her to face accountability for her illegal actions but that that part probably won't happen until Dems win back control of Congress (hopefully in November!)

2) Ezra suggested that each of us find three people who didn't attend the first two No Kings protests and inviting them to No Kings 3

3) If anyone would like some training in advance of No Kings 3 on Safety and Deescalation there are several live and recorded trainings on the website, Indivisible.org

REQUESTS, INVITATIONS AND INFORMATION FROM OTHER ORGANIZATIONS:

From Indivisible Battlegrounds Team:

Neighbor2Neighbor is back!

In 2022, Indivisible created Neighbor2Neighbor, a relational canvassing tool that offers a low-barrier, high-impact approach to canvassing. Starting March 9th, we’re launching Neighbor2Neighbor across five key battleground states: Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina, and Ohio.

This means that you are invited to join the Indivisible Battlegrounds team on Monday, March 9th at 8PM ET to learn more about this tool and what it means to be a “battleground” state. While typical canvassing promotes a particular candidate or party, this round of Neighbor2Neighbor helps prepare neighborhoods with resources in the event of ICE activity. Participants will receive a script and flyers designed to connect neighbors with Know Your Rights information and ICE rapid response resources.

From Minneapolis to your city/town, we’ve seen that communities are safer when neighbors stay informed and connected. Help us help you reach your neighbors!

Boycott ChatGPT and spread the word! If you are using AI, cancel ChatGPT (and of course Musk's Grok)! Claude is slightly less horrible but, in general, AI is bad for the environment and should not be used to make photos of your dog as a firefighter. Even if you have never had ChatGPT, share this information far and wide! Unsubscribe from any paid subscriptions and delete the app from your devices. Here's an Instagram video discussing why this boycott is likely to be effective:
